The The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially declared the results of the CA Final Examination held in January 2026. The announcement brought relief and excitement to thousands of aspirants across the country who had been eagerly waiting for the outcome of the final stage of the Chartered Accountancy course.The CA Final examination is regarded as one of the most challenging professional examinations in India. Conducted under strict standards and comprehensive evaluation procedures, it tests candidates on advanced subjects such as Financial Reporting, Audit, Direct and Indirect Taxation, Strategic Financial Management, and Corporate Laws.
Overview of Results
In the January 2026 session, a total of 53,652 candidates appeared for Group I of the CA Final examination. This large participation reflects the growing interest in the CA profession and the increasing number of students reaching the final stage of the course.Out of the 53,652 candidates who appeared for Group I, 11,282 candidates successfully cleared the group, resulting in a pass percentage of 21.03%. The moderate success rate highlights the rigorous nature of the papers and the high standards maintained by ICAI.
For Group II, 38,169 candidates appeared in the January 2026 attempt. Group II includes subjects that demand strong conceptual clarity and practical application, especially in taxation and strategic cost management.
- From this group, 3,726 candidates cleared the examination, leading to a pass percentage of 9.76%. The comparatively lower pass rate indicates the complexity and evolving nature of the subjects covered under this group.
- Additionally, 22,293 candidates appeared for both groups together in the same attempt. Appearing for both groups simultaneously requires disciplined preparation, effective time management, and consistent revision of a vast syllabus.
- Out of these, 2,446 candidates cleared both groups, achieving a combined pass percentage of 10.97%. Clearing both groups in one attempt remains a significant accomplishment and marks a major milestone in a CA aspirant’s journey.
